Prepare to be amazed as we blend the thrill of aerial acrobatics with the graze of contemporary dance, resulting in an experience of artistic expression. These workshops are a great opportunity for aerialists and dancers to explore the enchanting world of aerial arts. The workshops will be led by Irini Spiropoulou from Greece and Irene Schuberth from Austria.
In these workshops we will focus on exploring anatomically conscious movement and unleashing your personal creativity to create a harmonious fusion of physicality and artistry in aerial arts.
Discover the beauty of movement that respects your body´s natural biomechanics. We will guide you through techniques that prioritize organic movement in your practice. By understanding your body´s limits you will learn to perform movements that are not only visually stunning but also respects the anatomy of your body.
Every participant brings a unique flair to their practice. Through guided improvisation sessions, each student has the opportunity to infuse the given sequences with their own unique movement style.

Hoop/Trapeze
Suitable for beginners till advanced aerialists or dancers, this aerial hoop workshop will start with a unique warm-up based on contemporary dance, Yoga and Pilates. The basic foundations of aerial acrobatics will be taught: learning proper body alignment, conditioning and power exercises to prepare the body to be in the air safely and comfortably.
On the Hoop we will develop challenging sequences of choreography, as on this aerial apparatus constructive transitioning is very essential.
You will learn how to spiral and twist around the bar and rope, and how to work with and against gravity. Each student will be challenged to expand their own creative movement vocabulary in the air.
The beginners will focus on basic vocabulary, such as different ways of ascend and descend the apparatus, figures and poses. As body awareness is very essential in the air, we will focuses on correct body alignment and placement throughout the workshop.
The advanced students will get introduced to the art of spinning, how to use the centrifugal force to assist the body to spiral upwards to mount the hoop. We will teach you how to efficiently use the rotation of the aerial apparatus, which will guide you to new ways of moving on and around the Hoop to transform all movements into a free-flowing dance.
As cooling down is essential for the body, the workshop will wrap up with some efficient stretching and flexibility exercises.
Silk/Rope
This aerial workshop is assembled to invite dancers and aerialists to expand their expression of movement into another dimension, from a different frame of reference as they explore movement and dance in the air. Using Silks, dancers will be invited to playfully explore this new space and how to work with and against gravity.
After a warm-up based on contemporary dance, yoga and pilates, the basic foundations of aerial dance will be taught: learning efficient body placement and alignment, conditioning and power exercises to prepare the body to be in the air safely and comfortably. In this Workshop different climbs, creative figures and challenging wraps around the body will be taught. Using efficient coordination and technique, the students will enjoy this creative and unique art of moving and learn how to unify moving on the ground and in the air.
The aerial silk advanced level requires more strength, endurance and skills. We will teach challenging ways of ascending and descending the silk, creatively linking different tricks together and as well fun drops.
The goal of this Workshop is to seamlessly move from one trick to the other, to combine all learned movements together and give the students space to find their own individual way of moving to dance freely in the air.
